Am I a Good Candidate for Microdermabrasion?
Ideal candidates for microdermabrasion are healthy adults with relatively minor skin conditions or imperfections. It is also important that prospective patients understand that this mild, non-invasive procedure cannot correct deep facial creases and folds, significant scarring, or significant sun damage. Such issues can, however, be addressed with other procedures.
Patients experiencing legions, Stage 3 or 4 acne, unstable diabetes, or pregnancy should not pursue microdermabrasion.
Is Microdermabrasion Painful?
No. Microdermabrasion is a gentle procedure which uses tiny crystals to exfoliate the skin. Most patients describe the treatment as having a “warming” or “tingling effect”, or liken it to having a massage.
