Facelift
Facelift without General Anesthesia: Awake and Pain-Free
Though general anesthesia has played an essential part of modern medicine, for some procedures, it may not be necessary. Several can be performed using a local anesthetic or light sedation. One such procedure is a facelift. The board-certified doctors of Suffolk Plastic Surgeons, PC are able to perform a facelift under local anesthesia. Most patients do not feel the “local” being administered and during the procedure, will often fall asleep. Another benefit… recovery time is drastically reduced.
Why Choose Awake Procedures?
General anesthesia is safe, but there are risks associated with its use. Often, patients are not comfortable with these risks, making local anesthesia a better choice. Other patients prefer to be conscious and aware of what is happening during their procedure. Using a local anesthetic makes this possible. In addition, a number of patients simply cannot undergo general anesthesia due to a medical condition. Using a local anesthetic, now makes it possible.
