TRAPTOX - TRAPEZIUS MUSCLE SLIMMING BOTOX

Living on Long Island can be fast-paced and stressful which can bring tension especially in your neck and shoulder areas. After time, you also may notice that your traps (trapezius muscle) have become thicker and larger in size leading to a more masculine and rigid appearance. At Suffolk Plastic Surgeons, PC, we have a solution to help minimize tension and improve appearance of your neck and shoulder area called TrapTox.  And as part of the name suggests, we are using Botox to treat our patients on a daily basis.

Botox is often used to smooth away frown lines, as well as furrows and creases across the forehead and other areas of the face. Traptox relaxes a portion of the muscle without compromising functionality in the same way Botox works to release facial wrinkles by preventing muscles from contracting.

How Does TrapTox work?

When injected into overactive muscles, it stops the treated muscle from receiving signals from the nervous system that would initiate a contraction. When the relaxed the muscle becomes less bulky, the result is a more feminine appearance. Many of us spend hours in front of a computer monitor creating what some call a “hunchback look.”  With Traptox, that unsightly bulge in your neck is no longer an issue.

Am I a Candidate For Traptox?

A consultation with Suffolk Plastic Surgeons, PC is the best way to find out if you are a good candidate for trapezius Botox. During your consultation, our board-certified doctor will examine the upper back and neck and discuss your goals for Traptox. They will also review your medical information to ensure that you do not have any allergies or medical conditions that would make Traptox an unsuitable option for you.

Candidates can also be patients who have discomfort in the neck and/or shoulders, such as:

  • Reduced range of motion in the neck and/or shoulders
  • Tension in the upper back and stiff neck
  • Muscle spasms
  • Generalized upper back and neck pain

How long does it take to see results?

Generally, you’ll see results in a week or two.  Our patients often report less spasming in the neck area and less bulkiness in the area. We’ve even had patients tell us that they’re sleeping better because of less tension!

If you are unhappy with your appearance due to overdeveloped trapezius muscles, Traptox may be an excellent treatment option for you.  At Suffolk Plastic Surgeons, PC in East Setauket, NY, all injectables such as Botox, are performed by our board-certified plastic surgeons.  Contact us now at 631-364-0333 to schedule a consultation. We would love to help you achieve the look you want.
